Time & Location

13 Sept 2026, 10:00 – 16:30

Studio 180 Bristol, Luckwell Rd, Bristol BS3 3EW, UK

About the event

An immersive Day Retreat to feed the mind of curiosity, including a nourishing lunch and sweet treat.

Yoga philosophy reminds us that joy is not something we chase, in fact it is our very nature. Rooted in the teachings of Santosha (contentment), this workshop invites you to actively cultivate a mindset of acceptance as a path to inner fulfilment. During the day we will explore this simple yet powerful teaching and begin to enquire into who we really are beneath the layers of thought (citta vritti).

Sudhir will introduce philosophical insights and practical tools that support emotional balance, resilience, and self-understanding. We will explore how knowledge shapes perception, how acceptance transforms experience, and how a steady inner state can be cultivated through mindful awareness.

This immersive day invites you to explore your inner landscape, and experience the full spectrum of life: joy and sorrow, ease and discomfort, fear and courage. With awareness and knowledge as our guides, we learn to accept, rather than resist these experiences, discovering clarity and truth within them. And by actively cultivating santosha, we learn the resilience that will hold us steady in unsteady times.

Through guided practices, reflection, and discussion, you will learn accessible techniques to remain grounded amidst life’s fluctuations, to deepen your connection to inner peace, and to consciously choose joy as a way of being. The day concludes with an open Q&A, offering space for integration, curiosity, and deeper exploration.

In a world that often emphasises external achievement, we turn inward to reconnect with the quiet, steady presence of contentment. Joy is not dependent on circumstance; it is a perspective we nurture, a practice we embody. Through the power of Sankalpa (intention), we plant the seed of joy within ourselves knowing that when we cultivate it joy, it naturally extends outward into the world around us.
