Spring Equinox: Yoga & Sound Workshop

Welcoming an energetic spring clean with Yoga, Breath and Sound to enter the new season with vitality and optimism.

Time & Location

20 Mar 2026, 19:30 – 21:30

Montpelier, 10-12 Picton St, Montpelier, Bristol BS6 5QA, UK

About the event

We’ll begin by connecting with the breath, using it as a thread to weave together a sequence of movements on the mat. Intentionally meeting any heaviness we may have accumulated over the winter and encouraging the mind/body to soften into feeling more vibrant and buoyant.

The Upanishads frequently refer to breath and vitality using the Sanskrit term Prana, which represents not just physical respiration, but the vital energy that animates the body and connects us to something greater. Therefore, our Yoga Asana practice will be a balance between Steadiness and Ease*.

We will focus on finding stability in the breath and body, in sometimes challenging poses, without compromising the steadiness of the breath. This way we can find the sweet spot where both body and mind can lift and open to the possibility of feeling centred and at ease, ready for the vibrance of Spring's energy to radiate from within.

We'll continue with this energetic spring clean by melting back into an immersive soundscape. Using techniques learnt in Nepal, Anz will use the meditative overtones of the Himalayan Singing Bowls along with the Gong, gentle humming, live acoustic songs and numerous chimes / percussion to activate the bodies natural ability to establish balance.

Sound can be a powerful tool for creating space around the thoughts and allowing the whole body and mind to drop into a space that feels spacious and more than enough.

Open to all levels, no previous experience of yoga or sound is needed.
